We are thrilled to announce a collaboration with the Steven Francis Fine Art Gallery in Virginia and an exceptionally talented group of realist painters who have come to the Kona Arts Retreat to find inspiration and partnership with the native community of Kona. We have had a group of artists from Portland and it seems that there is a similar mindset and focus on making art available to a larger audience through mural painting or individual artworks that are available to everyone. Among the featured artists are Scott Noel, Lincoln Perry, Ann Glover, Barbara Birge, Mina Mohtasham. 

 

The Big Island has many different micro-climates  and a rich tapestry of primal landscapes; many of these have never been touched by man. It seems important to document this fertile ground before it gets developed and we lose more natural beauty. Introducing a group of talented artists to this unknown world seems essential. It will be interesting to see the results of this conversation.
